The Quatre Papillon Story
Quatre Papillon is inspired by a visit to Chateau de Chenonceau in the Loire Valley. A lunch of duck salad with a Loire Valley red made an indelible impression. So good was the red that I sought out the winemakers to compliment them and enquire of their techniques and crafting of the wine.
Quatre Papillon translates as four butterflies and represents the four varieties that comprise this wine, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
It is made in the Loire Valley style, sans oak.
There are also four butterflies on the Sargé wine label, but that is another story...
